• Diabetes:

Diabetes is a chronic disease that occurs either when the pancreas doesn’t produce enough insulin in the body or when the body cannot effectively use the insulin that is produced by the pancreas. Insulin is a hormone that regulates the glucose levels in the blood.

• Drug Introduction:

Glimepiride, Metformin and Voglibose are anti-diabetic drugs. This combination is prescribed to patients with type 2 diabetes.

Glimepiride belongs to the class of 'Sulfonylureas'; under the sub-class of 'Second Generation Analogs'. Metformin is under the classification of 'Biguanides'.

Voglibose belongs under the class of 'saccharides' and is an alpha-glucosidase inhibitor. It is a synthetic compound.

Overdose can cause Vitamin B12 deficiency. Symptoms of overdose include rapid breathing, shakiness, sweating, loss of consciousness, irregular heartbeat, severe drowsiness, and severe nausea/vomiting/diarrhoea.

This medication is to be only used when prescribed by a doctor and NOT to be self-administrated.
